The Department

The Customer Strategy, Insights, and Innovation (CSII) Division is dedicated to cultivating customer-centric capabilities across the Club ecosystem and shaping customer strategies that drive business growth.  Through a data-driven approach, the Division strives to achieve a 360-degree understanding and insights of owners, members and wagering customers, enabling the seamless design of end-to-end customer experiences across online and offline channels (Racecourses and Off-course Betting Branches).  This is achieved by integrating Clubwide customer data onto a unified platform, creating a single view of our customers that empowers us to deliver personalised offers and unique experiences.

Digital Experience and Innovation Department is responsible for providing quality digital experience to local and overseas customers of The Hong Kong Jockey Club.  It operates 88 Race Meetings a year, 33 Simulcasts days, a thrice-weekly Mark 6 Draw, 7x24 Digital Channels, 7x24 Football Betting Services on over 11,000 different leagues per year.  The ultimate aim is to provide an impressive total customer experience leading to sustainable turnover growth in a responsible manner and engage new customers.

The job holder reports to Senior Manager, UIUX Design.

 

The Job

You will:

  • Devises desirable front-end UX/UI and feasible solutions; conveys design-thinking into visualisable plan including information architecture, wireframe and interactive prototype / mockups
  • Provides support to develop unified design and style guide documentation for DEI’s digital assets
  • Creates and manages artwork / graphic assets for use in all medium including mobile app, web / online, social media platform, video and display
  • Assesses and analyses usage behaviour and customer experience, and proposes actionable improvements plan; stays abreast of current trends and best practices in digital industry and technology options
  • Participates in various product development activities, including user research, needs finding research, conceptual validation, UX/UI design, usability testing and user acceptance test
  • Delivers innovative UX/UI design and technical direction for the Club’s digital applications and services; manage and liaises with IT and external vendor on requirements, specifications, development, testing and related deliverables
  • Support Senior Management to manage digital product development for the 7-step wagering customer journey, especially related to Onboarding, Preparing, Enjoying/Betting, through budget and business case development, business requirements and priority, business matrix for measurement.
  • Supports Senior Manager, Digital Experience in delivering user-centred digital application projects across the Club’s range of digital channels, including mobile app, website, e-commerce and cross-media platforms
  • Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club’s business

 

About You

You should have:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Graphics Design, Digital Product Design, Interactive Design, Multimedia Design, or other relevant disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in creative and mobile app design
  • Solid experience of UX/UI, interaction and visual design with a good understanding of user centred design
  • Good understanding of customer behaviour on mobile app and website
  • Relevant experience within an agile team on digital products implementation is an advantage
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping software (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) is a must
  • Understanding in latest digital design trend is preferred
  • An excellent working attitude, self-motivated and being a team player
  • Good interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good written and verbal communication (English and Chinese)
  • Knowledge in Horse Racing and/or Football betting is a definite advantage

 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the selected candidate.
