Role Purpose:

As a Legal Counsel, you will support the legal operations of AS Watson Industries in Hong Kong and China.

​A typical day in this Role:

• Legal Advisory: Offer expert legal advice and support to ASWI’s operations (both HK and China), ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Contracts Management: Review and negotiate various types of commercial operational contracts (both English and Chinese), including, trading agreements, construction agreements, NDAs, IT services agreements, marketing agreements, software licensing, distribution and logistics agreements, insurance agreements, adtech etc.to safeguard the organisation's interests and mitigate risks.

• Dispute Resolution: Manage disputes and litigations, providing strategic direction and representation as needed.

• Commercial Transactions: Oversee and facilitate commercial transactions, ensuring they align with legal standards and organisational goals.

• Support internal stakeholders on reviewing internal policies and procedures.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, implementing necessary compliance measures.

• Training and Development: Conduct internal training sessions to enhance the legal knowledge and awareness of staff across the organization.

Success will depend on:

• Qualified Hong Kong Lawyer with at least 6 years’ PQE experience working in law firm or commercial sector

• Practical and commercially astute

• Experience in PRC contract review and legal matter is a must

• Experience in FMCG / manufacturing industries

• Experience in intellectual property matters will be an advantage

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Good drafting skills

• Good team player, proactive with good passion and commitment

• Fluent English & Chinese and written and spoken Mandarin.
