ISS STOXX is Hiring! We seek an Index Associate to be part of our Index Surveillance & Monitoring team within Index Operations Department.
The Index Operations is currently organized in 4 units defined as Index Surveillance and Monitoring, Index Review, Corporate Actions and Index Dividend Research across 6 locations (New-York, Frankfurt, Zug, Prague, Delhi and Hong-Kong) and is responsible for any day-to-day activities related to the maintenance of indices under STOXX mandates. Index Operations activities covers indices such as EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 50, STOXX Europe 600, as well as DAX indices, and Customized Indices. The Index Operations teams are also involved in any Strategic Projects where expertise on Index implementation, maintenance, regulations and customer interface are required.

Responsibilities
For our office in Hong-Kong, we are currently looking for an Index Associate with a strong background on Index Calculation or portfolio valuation. The overall successful candidate will be part of the dynamic Index Surveillance & Monitoring team that is located in 3 different locations.
As Index Associate, you will focus on the configuration, calculation and dissemination of all indices, under ISS STOXX responsibility, i.e. monitor in real time exchange prices used for the calculation of indices, perform any tasks related to the Surveillance of Index Calculation and its accuracy, supervise third party calculation agents. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: overseeing ownership research; providing accurate information to clients via publications and notifications. The role encompass as well large number of routine and non-routine activities across Index Operation.
In this role, you will use your creativity and industry expertise to participate in new, interesting and challenging projects such as subject matter expertise on index set-up and maintenance, markets impacts and anticipate market expectations, provide solution to enhance or suggest new tools, specify requirements for technical development and test new applications/tools from end to end. The role encompass as well coordination of the automation processes with the IT department and perform large number of routine and non-routine activities in the team.
You will represent a key growth area for the company and are expected to be a significant contributor and team player.
Qualifications
· Hold a Master Degree in finance, economics or mathematics or equivalent
· At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in financial environment (preferable Index Business, Portfolio Business, Asset managers, Product Development or Structuring) and a good understandings of Financial Markets environment, its working constraints and philosophy,
· Strong analytical and conceptual skills and know-how in financial information and financial markets, including understandings of corporate actions impacts on an Index
· Experience and track record in Corporate Actions management, Index Operations, Securities and listed companies Operations (Middle and back office), data analysis / cleansing, data processing rules and techniques is a plus
· Be able to work under pressure and to handle multiple tasks time-efficient and autonomously in parallels and work on tight deadlines
· Be able to work and learn autonomously with minimum supervision and training (self-starter/self-learner)
· With excellent communication skills and fluency in English both oral and written (mandatory); a second Asian language such as Mandarin, Japanese, Korean or European language such (Spanish, French, Italian or German) would be a plus
· Python and VBA programming skills would be a plus, ideally combined with database knowledge and SQL
· Good knowledge of reference and market data applications such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg
· Team player across functional domains and at all levels
