OptionsPilates, a pioneering international chain of Pilates and movement studios, is seeking a proactive leader and dedicated team player to assist the General Manager in overseeing operations, managing teams, and effectively addressing challenges.
This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with strong leadership qualities, a solid work ethic, and the resilience to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. While a background in Pilates or fitness is not mandatory, we value candidates with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and people management skills who can lead staff, oversee projects, and drive operational success.
Preferred Background:Experience as a personal assistant or in the hospitality industry is advantageous, offering transferable skills for this leadership role.
Initial Training and Onboarding:As an Assistant Manager, you will first immerse yourself in the studio’s daily operations. This includes:
- Mastering the Mindbody booking software to manage bookings and client accounts.
- Learning reception responsibilities, such as customer service, scheduling, and administrative duties.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining and Onboarding
- Software Mastery: Learn and master the Mindbody booking software to handle bookings, cancellations, and client accounts efficiently.
- Reception Duties: Familiarize yourself with daily reception tasks, including customer service, email management, phone inquiries, and scheduling.
- Admin Team Training: Use your expertise to train new receptionists, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage their roles effectively.
Studio Operations Management
- Daily Operations Oversight: Assist in managing daily operations, solving problems, and liaising with external vendors.
- Issue Mitigation: Actively identify and resolve challenges within the admin team, ensuring smooth interactions with clients and instructors.
- Crisis Management: Address emergencies effectively, maintaining poise and professionalism.
- System Development: Establish and maintain SOPs, process maps, policies, and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
Instructor and HR Management
- Instructor Management: Monitor instructors’ educational progress, update contracts and other records to track instructor KPIs. Contribute to data collection for annual reviews and actively track instructor performance, including metrics like retention, client renewal rates, and trial-to-client conversions. Manage client handovers when instructors go on vacation or resignation to ensure seamless service continuity.
- HR Duties: Oversee the hiring process for admin staff, including conducting interviews, drafting contracts, and addressing employee issues constructively. Assist in the instructor hiring process as needed.
Education and Client Management
- Course Organization: Oversee the scheduling and administration of courses, ensuring staff performance and quality control.
- Client Interaction: Address client queries, complaints, and booking issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Administrative and Reception Support
- Reception Coverage: Step in as needed to handle reception tasks, including managing emails, phone inquiries, bookings, and cancellations.
- Ad-Hoc Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as required to support studio operations.

Position Details
- Work Schedule: 5.5 days per week, including weekends.
- Compensation:
- Trial Period: $115/hour for 5 hours daily, lasting up to 3 months. This period may be shortened if the candidate demonstrates strong potential. The goal is to transition the candidate to a full-time role.
- Post-Trial: $24,000/month (gross) with a 48-hour workweek. Transport support may be provided.
- Performance-Based Growth: While it typically takes 6 months to understand our studio operations, we do not base compensation on time alone. Candidates who show strong execution, leadership, and ownership of their role may see salary progression to $26,000–32,000 HKD/month or beyond.
- We are expanding to a second location, and we’re looking for someone who can eventually step into a larger managerial role across both sites. There is no salary cap for the right person who proves they can lead and grow with the business.
