Responsibilities: 

  • Build strong relationships with cross-government bureaus, departments, and transportation operators/partners at various levels. Design and develop solutions and manage mega project deliveries to meet Octopus’s business aspirations.
  • Innovate and plan Octopus products, features, and services based on market analysis and key account needs. Define the roadmap for strategic accounts.
  • Develop and implement new Octopus use cases, review market feedback, and optimise the Octopus experience and services.
  • Provide professional consultancy to the government on how Octopus can support their policies, with a strong ability to communicate, drive, and deliver positive impacts on government initiatives.
  • Engage major transportation operators with other platforms through business collaborations and new partnerships to maintain close cooperation and develop new business opportunities.
  • Study and research market and data trends to identify competitors’ products and offerings in transportation. Propose new engagements, products, services, and solutions that are attractive and well-received to counteract competition, enhance Octopus’s position with key accounts, and increase customer engagement to maintain Octopus’s market share in transportation.
  • Set ROI, goals, and quality objectives for each product, service, and solution developed to drive commercial value for key accounts and Octopus.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is required; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Around 15+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within the transportation or related industries (e.g., transit, payments, technology).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing strategic accounts, preferably within the public transportation sector (metro, bus operators, etc.) and public sector.
  • Experience in product innovation, roadmap definition, and new product/service launches.
  • Experience in developing and implementing go-to-market strategies.
  • Track record in implementing successful go-to-market product or services fulfilling public transport and/or public sector aspirations.
  • Track record in public sector (Mainland and Local), media and corporate communication related correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop strategic plans to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Proven ability to understand customer needs, translate them into product requirements, and drive product innovation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, analyze competitor activities, and develop competitive strategies.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, including ROI analysis, goal setting, and performance measurement.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills with ability to combine business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals.
  • Excellent team player & communicator who can work seamlessly with customers, partners and cross functional teams within the company.
  • Good business acumen, enthusiastic, self-motivated, persistent and well organized with attention to details.
