Planning Director, Asia (Multinational Corporation)
We are assisting our client in finding an articulate and presentable leader to head their planning team across the region. This role is crucial for driving efficiency, optimizing processes, and delivering the department’s mission and vision, as well as supporting all supply chain and company strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, stakeholder management skills and expertise in planning.
Reporting to the Senior Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead a team of planners and manage the end-to-end planning process across the APAC region.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize inventory management, production planning, and logistics operations.
- Ensure timely communication with Engineering, Sourcing, and the Asia planning team to enable optimal and proactive capacity and supply planning decisions.
- Supply planning includes production planning, master planning, commodity planning, purchasing, capacity planning, inventory control, and supply-demand balancing.
- Define and monitor KPIs related to on-time delivery, collections, cost reduction, compliance execution, and lead time. Implement corrective actions through effective root cause analysis.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational decisions
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct supplier evaluation, selection and assessment, and ensure the supplier's supply capacity and service level
- Coordinate all links of the supply chain, optimize the order processing process, and improve the response speed and service quality of the business orders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a similar field.
- 15 +years of relevant experience in supply chain or merchandising operations, preferably from a buying office, FMCG, or the contract electronics industry.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on enhancing processes and achieving operational excellence.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient in spoken and written English, and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
- Frequent travel is required
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Senior Manager
