The Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for an IT Application Specialist .

 

Reporting to the Manager – Information Technology, the IT Application Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the school applications including Student Information System, Teaching and Learning System and applications for business operations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and support applications  

  • Assist the Manager – IT to maintain and support the Student Information System, Teaching & Learning System, SAP, Purchasing Portal, Destiny and other applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
  • Implement software upgrades and patches as necessary
  • Maintain user accounts and permissions
  • Provide training and support to end-users on application functionalities
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to applications, processes, and procedures

 

Application development 

  • Provide support to the Manager – IT for the development cycle of applications
  • Conduct feasibility study, collect user requirement, prepare documentation, coding, testing and the rollout of applications
  • Utilize coding such as Python scripting, and API programming for system integration and automation tasks

 

Other Duties As Required

  • Work with the IT teams for the coordination of IT summer projects
  • Undertake any other duties and functions as required, which will help impact and strengthen the contributions of the division and improve overall operations

 

Experience and Qualifications

Education/Skills:

  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, or information systems or related field preferred

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT environment
  • Proven experience in maintaining and supporting student information systems in an educational environment is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platform / services (AWS, Azure, M365, etc), mobile platform will be an advantage
  • Experience with programming will be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (oral and written).
  • Highly motivated, quick learner and problem solver. Takes initiative, outgoing and dynamic 
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Certification in relevant software applications is advantageous.

 

Personal Skills/Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred but not essential
  • Willing to work with and support our students and learning community
  • Willing to work outside office hours when required, especially during busy periods 
  • Highly motivated, quick learner and problem solver. Takes initiative, outgoing and dynamic
