Applications are invited for 6-month temporary appointment as Assistant Executive Officer, to commence as soon as possible.

The appointee will join the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), a start-up company incorporated by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) that is led by senior faculty members of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU. The D24H sets to play pivotal role in gathering and curating massive, unique data resources and to develop new, deep, frontier analytics in protecting global public health and improving individual healthcare through precision medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide spectrum of administrative tasks, including (1) finance and administration; (2) procurement and tendering; (3) secretarial support; (4) management of research and development (R&D) projects and events; and (5) performance of other duties as assigned;
• Support the organisation and management of events, including but not limited to trainings, business trips, local/overseas exhibitions and other marketing and commercialisation activities;
• Prepare new product marketing materials, including leaflets, brochures and video highlights, etc.; and
• Liaise and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of R&D projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in start-up industry and/or tertiary education sector;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Putonghua would be a definite advantage);
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• A strong sense of responsibility, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, be attentive to details and able to work under pressure; and
• Preference will be given to candidates with a high level of computer/IT literacy.
