The Estimates and Research Contribution team is responsible for managing relations with firms contributing content to FactSet.
The Broker Relations Manager is responsible for building relations with existing and new contributors for the overall improvement of multiple content sets.
This is a sales and relationship role which requires prospecting for new contribution and fostering existing relationship to enhance current contribution where possible.
It is important to build a long-term relationship with each of the contributors, ensuring they find value in making their content available through FactSet products.
Knowledge of the estimates and research products, how they are used within the client base, as well as specific applications related to contribution, such as readership statistics and the entitlement application, are critical components of success.
Job Description
The Broker Relations Manager is responsible for Content Procurement and Relationship Management.
The Relations Manager works closely with Product Development, Support as well as local sales teams and develops ways to improve contributor content which involves Earnings Estimates, Economic Estimates, Research including analyst Models, Transaction data and Funds data.
- Take responsibility for managing existing contributors in the assigned territory. Prompt follow ups for delayed contribution (Retention)
- Seize opportunities to get additional data / content (Expansion)
- Run the process for gaining contribution from a research firm within the assigned territory. This will include cold calling, meetings, follow-ups and contract negotiations (New)
- Assist contributors with user training and support on the entitlements application, the contribution tool and the contributor workstation.
- Build expertise with the various content sets; operate as a subject matter expert.
- Work with local sales teams and continue the build-out value added services to contributors.
- Work with Product Development to help enhance applications.
- Efficiently manage contact information and summarize conversations within the available tools.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Language skills to include Mandarin, Cantonese and English. Additionally, Korean / Japanese language skills are quite valuable.
- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
- Broad understanding of the financial industry with an interest in learning distribution of financial information.
- Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative team player with ability to coordinate with various working groups; ability to communicate with senior level management as well as administrative support personnel.
- Ability to recognize and communicate client needs/enhancements.
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues, replicate the problem and communicate the issue in writing to the appropriate contacts at FactSet to correct the issue.
- Willingness to travel (low to moderate amount of time).
