Client Details

A well-established international FMCG trading company specializing in food trade between Europe and Asia is seeking a dynamic Merchandiser to join their growing team. From sourcing to quality assurance in both the country of origin and upon arrival, the company ensures excellence throughout the process.

Description

  • Manage the entire process, including supplier onboarding, sourcing, negotiations, production follow-ups, and post-delivery evaluations.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers, conduct factory audits, and ensure compliance with product and supplier standards.
  • Handle product samples independently, including evaluating quality, packaging, and other parameters, as well as managing customer sample dispatches.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  • Maintain seamless communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including the head office, customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Oversee label artwork development and proof approvals.

Profile

  • Diploma or higher in Merchandising, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, buying offices, or trading companies.
  • Relevant expertise in grocery products, including canned foods and Asian-origin items such as noodles, sauces, and snacks. Experience working with European importers or retailers is a plus.
  • Proficient understanding of product specifications and supplier certifications.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Organized and reliable, with excellent time management skills to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Familiar with MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
