We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to join our customer’s project and contribute to the success of critical data-related projects . The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in business analysis , with hands-on experience working on data-centric initiatives such as data integration, analytics, reporting, or data governance. While project management experience is not mandatory, it is a strong plus and will be considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and document requirements for data-related projects.
Process Analysis: Analyse current business workflows, data processes, and systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Documentation: Create comprehensive business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process workflows for data initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and feedback sessions to ensure clarity and alignment on project goals.
Data Collaboration: Work with the data engineering team to define data requirements, including data extraction, transformation, and reporting needs.
Data Engineering
Data Understanding : Partner with data engineers to define and refine data models, sources, and structures.
ETL Collaboration : Assist in specifying requirements for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Data Pipelines : Work with the engineering team to ensure seamless data pipeline development and integration.
Platform Integration : Collaborate on integrating various platforms and systems, ensuring smooth data flow and compatibility across tools and technologies.
Data Quality : Support data validation and testing to ensure accurate and consistent data for business use.
Data Governance : Participate in discussions and initiatives related to data governance and compliance with organizational standards.
Project Exposure (Not Mandatory):
Support project planning and coordination activities, such as scheduling, resource tracking, and risk identification.
Assist in defining project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Track and report project progress, risks, and dependencies to ensure alignment with timelines and expectations.
Exposure to Agile or Waterfall methodologies is a plus.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
Business Analysis: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on data-related projects (e.g., data integration, data analytics, or reporting).
Project Management (Not Mandatory): Basic exposure to project management activities or methodologies will be an advantage.
Certifications (Preferred):
CBAP, CCBA, or other Business Analysis certifications.
Exposure to PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM) is a plus but not required.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of data workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and reporting (ETL).
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Basic knowledge of SQL or ability to work with data teams on querying and data validation.
Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., process diagrams, gap analysis, use cases).
