Our client is a European company looking for a Group IT Engineer to join its team. This person will be an individual contributor, reporting to the Global Head of IT and providing tier 2 support to the Hong Kong, China, and Australia offices.

Responsibilities:

• Leading infrastructure-related projects and workstreams within larger projects and managing 3rd party specialist consultants.
• Providing comprehensive support for the company’s IT services, from infrastructure to end user, ensuring timely and standard-compliant responses to assistance requests.
• Gathering requirements, specifying, procuring, implementing, testing and documenting new IT systems, cloud and hybrid services, databases and networks.
• Selecting and managing suppliers for hardware and backend services and overseeing support, maintenance and contracts.
• Managing updates, backups and monitoring Windows servers, Linux, Azure resources, switches, routers and storage systems.
• Integrating new applications, systems and services into existing environments.
• Continuously monitor systems to ensure optimal functionality and identify and resolve inefficiencies and errors.
• Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams and operational procedures.
• Propose and implement best practices and follow established processes.
• Providing 2nd level end-user and events support.Acting as a backup for the IT support function.
• Manage setup and configuration in Office 365, Azure, AD, AAD and vSphere.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years experience in an IT support role
• Ability to speak and explain technical topics in non-technical language to colleagues and team members
• Excellent communication and good command of speaking and written in English & Chinese
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good time management and organisation skills
• Proactive and hands-on approach
• Expert-level skills in the latest versions of Windows Server, Office 365, Active Directory, Linux, vSphere, network routing and switching, and storage technologies. Experiences with the administration of Azure
• Experienced in administering SQL servers, Exchange Online, MS Office, IIS, Teams, Share Point and wireless technologies.
• Certification or Qualification: Microsoft Office 365/Windows/Azure, VMWare VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP
• Knowledge of IT data security, enterprise management tools and industry best practices.
