Key Responsibilities



Define & Monitor Cybersecurity Practices

  • Develop and execute a maritime-specific cybersecurity strategy to enhance security across global offices and vessels.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation initiatives to mitigate cybersecurity threats.

  • Define and maintain a Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP) , ensuring readiness through drills and simulations.

  • Monitor security metrics to assess the effectiveness of cybersecurity initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

  • Provide executive-level reports on cybersecurity posture, strategic progress, and emerging risks.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board, translating technical risks into business impacts.

  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

  • Drive change management initiatives to embed a culture of cybersecurity resilience across the organization.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team with a focus on OT security.

  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate cybersecurity into infrastructure and operational processes.

  • Manage third-party vendors to ensure seamless cybersecurity solution integration and SLA adherence.

  • Stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and industry trends, promoting continuous knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years in IT security, compliance, or risk management, preferably in critical infrastructure or OT environments .

  • Expertise in enforcing cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and maritime regulations .

  • Strong experience in incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, SIEM, and EDR solutions .

  • Proven leadership in building and developing high-performing cybersecurity teams .

  • Strong vendor management skills, ensuring seamless security integration across multiple service providers.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate cybersecurity risks and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite executives .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GCIH .

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and cloud security .

  • Knowledge of maritime industry cybersecurity threats such as GPS spoofing and ransomware attacks .

  • Familiarity with SCADA, Vessel Management Systems, and maritime regulatory requirements (IMO, ISM Code).
