Our client is a leading local bank. As the Head of Credit Risk, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the credit risk function. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective credit risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the bank's credit portfolio remains healthy and sustainable. The main objective will be to assess creditworthiness, mitigate risks, and optimize lending decisions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk management strategies aligned with the bank's objectives and risk appetite.
Establish credit risk policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Assess and analyze credit risk across various lending products and segments, including consumer loans, business loans, and credit cards.
Develop credit risk models and methodologies to evaluate creditworthiness, loan pricing, and portfolio performance.
Monitor key credit risk indicators and metrics, promptly identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate actions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, lending teams, and underwriters, to optimize credit decision-making processes.
Provide guidance and training to staff on credit risk management practices, ensuring a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in credit risk management practices, implementing necessary updates to the bank's credit risk framework.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Over 15 years of experience in credit risk management within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on SME and Commercial Banking lendings.
Strong knowledge of credit risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in developing and implementing credit risk strategies and policies.
Proficient in credit risk modeling and analysis techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound risk decisions.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
