As the Assistant Finance Manager for the APAC regional office, your primary focus will be on managing the credit control function, overseeing regional compliance matters, and leveraging various trade finance instruments to optimize the company's cash flow across the APAC region. Additionally, you will be the key person in charge of the books of accounts, financial reporting, and analysis for the South APAC operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Oversee the finance operation of the organization’s subsidiaries and liaison offices in South APAC region. Review financial statements, conduct financial analysis and prepare the reporting pack and ensure submitting on time with high degree of accuracy.
  • Manage and oversee the APAC region's credit control processes, including credit limit approvals, ensure timely billing and settlement posting, timely collections of accounts receivable, delinquent account management, customer creditworthiness analysis, develop and maintain the credit policies.
  • Review and approve daily shipment override requests to ensure alignment with credit policies
  • Provide expertise on letters of credit, invoice factoring, and other trade finance instruments to support the regional finance operations, including implementing strategies on collection to optimize cash flow and manage customer credit risk.
  • Oversee the regional compliance matters, include reviewing and submitting the monthly, quarterly and yearly filing such as WHT, VAT, CIT, and other tax filings, licenses renewal in subsidiaries and liaison offices with local professional parties.
  • Ensure all regional compliance filings and deadlines are met across the APAC operations
  • Collaborate closely with Business Unit to support the implementation of new initiatives by ensuring robust financial governance and controls.
  • Assist the Regional Finance Manager and collaborate with the local Finance Manager on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
  • Provide guidance and support to the local finance teams on credit control and compliance procedures.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of the regional balance sheet and collaborate with local finance manager, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data, and identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and automation to improve the efficiency.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
  • Thorough understanding of credit management principles, best practices, and a deep knowledge of various trade finance instruments (L/C, bank guarantees, invoice factoring, bank acceptance drafts, etc.).
  • Proven experience in successfully implementing and managing trade finance instrument strategies to optimize cash flow and manage customer credit risk.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements in the APAC region.
  • Demonstrated experience in balance sheet management and financial reporting, including the ability to review, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet accounts for regional operations.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external parties.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • CPA or CTP certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement strategies to improve the company's cash flow and financial performance.
  • Good command in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP system is a must. Experience in Microsoft Dynamic AX or Microsoft Dynamic 365 is a definite advantage.
  • Immediate available is highly preferred.
