ABOUT DESTEN:

DESTEN is a US-based Lithium-ion battery technology and solutions company. DESTEN’s battery technology innovations comprise the entire cell and battery pack infrastructure: material innovation and application, advanced cell structures, production process innovations, and associated hardware and software components needed to realize ultra-fast charging in high-power applications.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage global projects through all phases, from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables align with strategic objectives.
  • Required to keep the Chairman/CEO, CIO appraised of all project deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Execute technical design and development with a specialization in charging connector systems for electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems and other relevant Lithium-ion battery applications.
  • Develop and implement project strategies for customer needs analysis, and market development strategies.
  • Transfer and launch projects from European and North American markets to China, achieving on-time delivery within budget and quality assurance targets.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to promote platform project products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Perform budget management, including tracking project costs and ensuring financial deliverability.
  • Conduct risk management by identifying potential project risks, implementing preventative measures, and managing issue resolution.
  • Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) cost control, driving material optimization and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) efforts.
  • Manage project team performance, fostering motivation and ensuring effective team collaboration.
  • Navigate project reviews and gate processes, ensuring quality control and timely delivery of all project deliverables, including design reviews and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
  • Deliver comprehensive status reports to top management and stakeholders at regular intervals.
  • Utilize the relevant project management tool utilized in the company.
  • Responsible for engineering team daily duties and tasks.
  • Responsible for project team’s budgets.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience in the automotive industry, particularly within electric vehicle sectors.
  • Experience in the OEM Battery Energy Storage design industry. Focus is on the system design and assembly industry (e.g. Siemens)
  • Proven experience managing global projects and leading diverse teams.
  • Experience in technical design and development of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Fluent English “must have”

  • Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems design.
