Role Summary

This position will be based in Hong Kong and will report to the Head of Equity. The incumbent will manage equity portfolios invested in shares issued by companies in the Asia Pacific region. Views on sectors and companies will be developed based on rigorous company analysis, company visits, sector analysis, and discussions with colleagues in Asia, the U.S., and Europe. The incumbent will assist the Head of Equity in forming investment views and themes and will also contribute to global equity products as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with other portfolio managers and equity analysts to develop equity research capabilities, develop and implement model equity portfolios, and identify new equity strategies.
• Work closely with other portfolio managers and equity analysts, to ensure sound execution of a consistent and effective portfolio construction process.
• Review, develop, and implement new quantitative screening tools and improve quantitative techniques as needed.
• Review and maintain effectiveness of fundamental research and a company visitation schedule.
• Implement and improve a country allocation process for multi-country funds.
• Employ sound risk management techniques and metrics to monitor concentration and diversification risks, liquidity risks, tracking error, and derivatives exposure.
• Participate in marketing and client relations activities as needed to communicate equity investment process, investment capabilities, and equity portfolio performance and attribution.
  
  

Required Experience

• Broad equity knowledge and portfolio management experience;
• A minimum of five years of experience in managing mutual funds
• Strong equity research background.
• Experience with equity investment process implementation.
• Proven value adding track record; experience with Asian companies a plus.
• Understanding of and experience with various equity valuation techniques.
• Undergraduate degree from a reputable college/university and strong academic credentials.
• MBA and/or CFA preferred.
• Fluency in putonghua a plus
