Trading Assistant
Indus Capital Advisors (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Trading Assistant to support the daily operational functions of our trading team. This role will focus on helping support trade processing, reconciliation, settlement, and operational risks. The ideal candidate will work closely with traders, operations, fund administration, and counterparties to ensure smooth trade workflows and trade lifecycle management.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily trade capture, including confirmation and settlement of trades, and closely-related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Reconcile positions, cash balances, and transactions related to equity products by coordinating with counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
- Assist in ensuring appropriate trade entries/allocation and adherence to all investment and compliance guidelines.
- Work closely with compliance to monitor, update and verify any necessary reporting requirements.
- Develop relationships with operations, settlements and counterparties to ensure smooth resolution of issues.
- Work closely with colleagues cross-functionally such as research, compliance, and fund operations to enhance efficiencies on the trading platform. Gather and track data for research reports.
- Help with ad-hoc projects to identify operational risks and implement controls to minimize errors and inefficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in trade operations, middle office, or trade support at a hedge fund, asset
- manager, or investment bank.
- General knowledge of markets and financial products.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, order management systems (OMS), and Excel (VBA, SQL, or Python a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively across teams and external counterparties.
