JOB DESCRIPTION

ESF Wu Kai Sha International Kindergarten is located in Ma On Shan and offers inspiring learning experiences to children aged 3-5 years old. Our inquiry- based curriculum encourages children to explore relevant concepts and ideas through child-centred play and exploration, real-life experiences, and focused learning and teaching engagements, allowing them to develop a range of understandings, knowledge and skills in all areas of the curriculum.

We are seeking an Educational Assistant (Learning Diversity) from August to December 2025 to join our exceptional team of highly qualified and experienced staff who are both nurturing and passionate about Early Childhood education. The Educational Assistant (Learning Diversity) is an integral part of our teaching team and works closely with teachers and the Learning Diversity Coordinator to support children, particularly those with diverse learning needs. This role involves creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students can thrive.

Please note that this position primarily involves working in a classroom environment with young children. Some physical activity may be required, including lifting and supporting children during Forest and Beach School sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages participation from all students.
  • Apply Universal Design principles to create a flexible learning environment that accommodates various learning preferences and styles.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and respect among all students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction, facilitating activities that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies to promote positive social interactions, emotional regulation and conflict resolution among students.
  • Support the emotional development of children through nurturing and caring for them
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans for students with diverse needs.
  • Observe and document information on student progress, contributing to assessments that inform instructional practices.
  • Work closely with teaching teams and the Learning Diversity Coordinator to ensure consistent support for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist in the creation and preparation of learning materials and resources 
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom, including Forest and Beach School

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, patient, and have a genuine passion for supporting children's educational journeys.
  • Having had previous experience working with young children in an educational environment, particularly those with diverse learning needs, is advantageous.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An Early Years/Teaching qualification and Hong Kong Teacher Registration is advantageous.

Applicants must be permanent Hong Kong residents or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
