Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible for managing the Information Technology (IT) functions of HKCAAVQ, assisting the Head (QFQR & IT) in ensuring operational excellence and alignment of IT strategies with organisational goals.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing IT systems, networks and security to ensure robust and secure operations;
  • Planning, implementing and managing IT projects, including system enhancements, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives;
  • Identifying process improvement and development initiatives, undertaking impact and risk analysis, formulating mitigating strategies and solutions;
  • Developing and managing IT related budgets;
  • Formulating, reviewing and implementing IT policies and procedures;
  • Preparing technical specifications, documentations, and reports for IT projects and systems;
  • Managing vendors contracts, ensuring compliance with deliverable, quality standards and relevant legislations;
  • Supervising IT staff to perform day-to-day IT functions and developing staff to enhance team performance and capability;
  • Providing technical advice and recommendations to senior management and functional units;
  • Arranging and conducting system testing, user trainings and security audits as required;
  • Handling ad-hoc IT services requests, troubleshooting issues, and ensuing timely resolution.


Requirements

The applicant should possess:

  • At least a first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, comparable to HKQF Level 5;
  • Minimum 8 years of post-qualification relevant work experience, including 3 years of hands-on experience in IT project and infrastructure management, application support and system enhancement.

Relevant professional qualifications in project management and hands-on experience in supporting HRIS would be an advantage.  Knowledge in programming would be a definite asset.

We are looking for a meticulous, responsible and self-motivated individual who has strong troubleshooting, problem solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; good written and spoken English and Chinese; readiness to work under pressure and outside normal office hours for urgent production issues.  Being an effective team player as well as able to work independently is essential. 
 

Conditions of Service and Application Procedures

Initial appointment will normally be made on a two-year contract subject to renewal.  We offer competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, contract-end gratuity, plus fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits.
