Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Specialist to manage and optimize our Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform in support of our strategic applications.  This role requires a strong technical background in Openshift/Kafka/Redis technology, exceptional vendor management skills, and project management expertise. The specialist will serve as the primary point for the support of the platform and will oversee the successful delivery of platform, ensuring seamless operation and support for our internal teams.  He/she is to align with the Group to support group-wide solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Openshift/Kafka/Redis Management:
    • Provide technical support and management of the Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform.
    • Oversee the daily operations of the Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform, including continuous improvement, capacity and availability management.
    • Perform routine tasks such as move/add/change requests and ensure timely execution of changes.
    • Troubleshoot and fix related incidents.
    • Coordinate with vendors and Group for higher levels of support as needed.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing higher levels of support.
    • Ensure vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
    • Coordinate with vendors for major project implementations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead local-scale projects related to Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform enhancements and upgrades.
    • Collaborate with dedicated project teams for large-scale implementations, acting as the liaison between business units and technical teams.
    • Serve as the anchor for business-as-usual delivery during major projects, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Service Ownership:
    • Act as the service owner for Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform, providing strategic direction and oversight.
    • Continuously assess and recommend improvements to Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform and related processes.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance the Openshift/Kafka/Redis capabilities.
  • Alignment with Group Openshift/Kafka/Redis Strategy:
    • Collaborate with Group stakeholders to support the deployment of group-wide Openshift/Kafka/Redis solutions.
    • Ensure that the local Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform aligns with the overall Group strategy and objectives.
    • Participate in discussions and planning sessions to provide input on Openshift/Kafka/Redis related projects and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Openshift/Kafka/Redis platform, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Openshift/Kafka/Redis and cloud technology
  • Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Project management certification is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
