The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) works round the clock to support our flight crew and ground employees in unexpected situations. We are the first point of contact in an emergency, and we help Flight Operations exercise operational control. The mission of IOC is to balance priorities of all the frontline operational sections, maintain schedule regularity and act in a safe, legal and cost-effective manner to recover the schedule after disruption.
As the Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in the transformation project for Crew Tracking System replacement. The role will serve as the primary contact for establishing business priorities and generating valuable insights and ideas for the development of new system. You will drive design and execution of product lifecycle including research & analysis, planning, roadmap, requirements, development support, and product launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall Product management of new Crew Tracking System
- implementation; become the knowledge champion of Crew Scheduling and Operations and focal point of contact with other stakeholders within FOP and external parties
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including vendors, internal IT and key business stakeholders to support a high-profile transformation initiative. Escalate issues to senior management stakeholders to obtain the necessary guidance and clarity in situations where conflicting goals arise
- Develop, prioritize, and manage the business priorities for development and agree on a development product backlog throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and advocate for change within Crew Operations, proactively challenging current process, and practices, while identifying improvement opportunities
- Identify existing processes that can be potentially reengineered, with a focus on automation /digitalization of manual & time intensive tasks to generate efficiency gains across the Crew Resources team
- Ensure the business readiness of the complete Crew Scheduling/Operations timeline aligning across Pairing, Rostering and Crew Operations. such as change in policy and procedures, detailed system design, training, skill set, and mind-set transformation
- Lead the user acceptance testing process; develop robust end to end test cases for validation of system logic and sign off to safeguard quality of deliverables developed within the replacement system
- Steer Crew Resources through the system cutover stage. Assess system readiness and drive the parallel run process before decommissioning of legacy Crew Tracking system
- Work closely with other departments such as Crew Planning, Flight Training, ISD (Inflight Services Department), IOC and other stakeholders to ensure that all Cathay process /requirements are supported by the new solution design
Requirements
- Bachelor or above in computer science, aviation, business management or related field, 8 years’ experience in relevant domain
- Experience in implementing Crew Operation/Tracking system, with strong knowledge in overall Crew Management process
- Experience in product management, with proven track-record of successfully launching, delivering and continuously enhancing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Experience articulating comprehensive roadmap with the people process technology capabilities required to deliver the business strategy
- Strong business acumen and ability to deep dive quickly into a new business domain.
- Strong analytical, project and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
- Broad understanding of challenges and opportunities of airline operations, especially in areas such as operations control centre, flight planning, crewing, airport operations and aircraft maintenance.
- Broad understanding of innovation methodologies, design thinking, and agile frameworks
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations, make data-driven decisions, and provide actionable recommendations
