About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Front Office Department in Hong Kong, the Night Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office Department. The Night Manager reports to the Assistant Front Office Manager.

As Night Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of Front Office's and the Hotel's overnight operations
  • Ensure a warm, genuine and efficient guests' arrival and departure experience by welcoming guests in-person and being attentive to their needs throughout their stays
  • Handle guests compliments, comments, observations and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist to increase overall Guest Satisfaction Scores by reviewing operational issues and business flow; supporting the Guest Service team to executive the guest recogintion program effectively and ensuring the growth of enrollment
  • Keep Front Office colleagues posted on up-to-date information relating to the hotel and hotel group
  • Handle administrative tasks including but not limited to ensuring high qualtiy of Guest Data Quality, maintaining various departmental files as well as reviewing working procedures to minimize paperwork
  • Assist to manage and monitor the team's performance by providing supervision, counselling and coaching
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the division head from time to time

As Night Manager, we expect from you:

  • Degree holder in Hospitality Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 6 years' relevant working experience in luxury hotels with at least 2 years' experience in similar positions
  • Pleasant, friendly and motivational with enthusiastic character
  • A team player with excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Service-oriented and able to work in a face-paced and dynamic operation
  • Well versed in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing
  • Proficient in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Knowledge of other language would be an advantage
