SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE 

CENTRE FOR CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE DRUG DEVELOPMENT 

Applications are invited for the following post in the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development (the Centre), which is located in the Hong Kong Science Park. 

Senior Project Manager (24250105)

The appointee will be responsible for R&D project management relating to Chinese herbal medicine drug development, overseeing and leading projects from pre-clinical through to clinical trials. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage new drug development projects in the Centre, from pre-clinical studies, investigational new drug (IND) applications to the clinical trials; 
  • Oversee the collaboration work with pre-clinical and clinical CROs; 
  • Optimise and improve processes and the overall research approach; 
  • Monitor the risk and find solution for the project completion; 
  • Supervise the team members in projects; 
  • Follow the regulations for drug development from different regulatory authoritiesincluding but not limit to China, the United States, as well as the funding agency oversight requirements; and
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • A PhD’s or master’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Phytomedicine or other related discipline; 
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing R&D and/or clinical projects, especially with a successful IND and/or NDA case(s); 
  • At least 10 years of working experience in the new drug development projects in pharmaceutical industries or related; and 
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team. 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. 

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written assessment. 

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Project Manager.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
