Project Title: One country two systems: how Hong Kong and Beijing Early Year Teachers View and Practise AI in Early language and literacy Education
[Appointment Period: 6 months]
The appointee will join an innovative research initiative investigating how early childhood educators in Hong Kong and Beijing perceive and implement AI tools to support language and literacy development in young learners. As a Research Assistant, you will work under the guidance of Dr. Yanling Zhou, gaining hands-on experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods. Key duties include: (a) assisting in data collection, coding, and analysis, (b) conducting systematic literature reviews, (c) supporting manuscript preparation for academic publications, and (d) coordinating project-related administrative tasks. This role offers a 6 months contract (renewable upon mutual agreement) with a flexible start date, ideally April 23, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
We welcome applications from motivated candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in child development, psychology, education, psycholinguistics, data science or related fields. Prior experience with quantitative research methods is essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment are critical. Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required; Cantonese proficiency is advantageous but not mandatory. This role is ideal for early-career researchers seeking to build expertise in AI applications for language education, with opportunities to contribute to conferences and publications.
