Role Introduction
As the Manager - Food Safety and Sustainability for Kai Tak Sports Park, you will be responsible for ensuring certification and compliance with HACCP and ISO22000 standards, as well as driving sustainability initiatives within our food service operations. You will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement food safety protocols, monitor compliance, and promote a culture of food safety excellence. Additionally, you will oversee the identification of emerging risks, manage crises, and contribute to the development of safe and sustainable food concepts and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HACCP and ISO22000 certification process.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive food safety and sustainability framework, standards, and tools in alignment with HACCP and ISO22000 requirements.
- Lead and manage regular food safety audit process, ensuring the quality and integrity of audits and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor and proactively address local food safety regulations, operational needs, and emerging risks, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Adherence to Local Laws on Hygiene and Sustainability. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and local authorities, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and promote sustainability initiatives.
- Manage the IOTPlus food safety monitoring system and ensuring that all departments are actively using the system
- Advises on proper food handling practices and provides food hygiene training for all new hires and trainees.
- Identifies key areas of risk in various food operations and takes pre-emptive remedial action.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the development of safe and sustainable food concepts and products, ensuring compliance with standards and legal requirements.
- Maintain and upgrade the Food Safety/Quality Management System to meet quality and food safety standards, conducting regular reviews and implementing improvements.
- Coordinate and conduct food-related recall and sale stop processes, ensuring timely and effective crisis management.
- Lead investigations and troubleshooting of product concerns from stores and customers, implementing corrective actions to address issues.
- Select and manage appropriate suppliers, 3rd party service providers, and conduct supplier audits and food tests as needed.
- Foster a culture of food safety among coworkers and customers through clear communication and training initiatives.
- Formulate Sustainability strategies, framework, action plans and monitor the implementation.
- Use Sustainability as one of the corporate branding tools to promote and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with various business units on Sustainability initiatives and provide expert advice Manage and report group-wide Sustainability data, KPIs and development progress.
- SOPs, Manuals, and Updates: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and manuals for various processes. Keep these documents up to date with any changes in processes, regulations, or industry best practices.
- Proper Documentation and Digital Filing: Establish and implement systems for capturing and storing relevant documents, both physically and digitally. This includes SOPs, manuals, training records, inspection reports, and certifications.
- Food Safety Monitoring System: Implement a robust system for monitoring food safety. This includes hazard analysis, risk assessment, control measures, monitoring, and corrective actions. Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of these measures.
Requirements
- Formal education and working experience in Food Safety Audit, Food Quality Control, Food Legislation, Food Science, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience of food safety and hygiene management, and with experience across several categories of food and beverage products.
- Advanced knowledge of laws and standards regarding ingredients, labelling, and supplier certifications.
- Management of customer complaints, particularly carrying out thorough investigations and troubleshooting
- Food-related certification(s) such as HACCP or ISO22000.
- Experience in creating and executing action plans related to food safety and sustainability.
- Good knowledge of Sustainability issues, trends, standards and frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of food quality and food safety regulations, particularly in the food service industry.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in both English and Cantonese.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
