Duties & Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this role are to monitor economic and market developments as well as regulatory changes in major jurisdictions and to assess the potential impact on the Hong Kong market. The successful candidate will need to work on market analysis with an eye on potential risks to market stability and on the opportunities for market development. You will also need to keep in view developments in the international capital markets, and conduct relevant research to support policy and operational work of the Division.
Requirements:
You must have a university degree in Economics or Finance with at least 5 years of research experience, and competency in conducting policy and regulatory research. You must have excellent analytical, quantitative and writing skills, and excellent knowledge in the securities and derivatives markets in Hong Kong, Mainland and other major markets. Hands-on experience on researches on the Hong Kong stock market as well as exchange-traded and OTC derivatives markets will be an important asset. You should be an active team player with a high initiative. You should also possess strong presentation and communication skills. An excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English is required, with proficiency in Putonghua. CFA charter-holders / CFA candidates are preferred. Proficiency in Excel, VBA or other data analysis software is a plus. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Manager
