Job Description

What you'll do: 

  • Conduct R&D works in any of the following expertise: - 
  • Automation equipment, IoT devices, and optical inspection equipment 
  • Advanced manufacturing solutions related to polymer synthesis, chemical extraction, sensor, machine IoT, human-machine interface, production process 
  • Development of nanomaterial related to electrospinning nanofiber, Li-ion battery and relevant material characterization, etc. 
  • Development of functional material related to electrodeposition, thin film fabrication and relevant material characterization, etc  
  • Conduct design, development and evaluation for R&D project delivery 
  • Conduct desktop research on advanced manufacturing and material development 
  • Provide consultancy services on industrial applications 
  • Prepare project proposal and progress report  
  • Engage with R&D partners (universities, tech suppliers, clients, end-users, etc.) and conduct technology commercialization events (training, seminar, conference, exhibition, etc.) local and overseas 
  • Travel to Mainland China and overseas occasionally for project implementation and new technology study. 

 

You'll be a good fit if you have/are: 

  • Doctoral degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial System Engineering or related engineering and science disciplines from a local university/top 100 university 
  • Knowledge and skill in any of the following areas: - 
    • AI, robotics, machine learning, automation, system integration, IIoT, PLC programming, cloud computing, industrial and systems engineering.  
    • Polymer synthesis, chemical extraction, sensor technologies, automation, manufacturing process development 
    • Manufacturing processing and material development for application of nanomaterial 
    • Manufacturing processing and material development for application of functional material 
  • Working experience in technology research and development preferred. 
  • Good command of English and Putonghua.

2. This is a position funded by the Research Talent Hub Programme under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) to conduct R&D project

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
