Role Purpose:

You will be responsible for managing and developing the retail online platforms and to drive improvement projects in our Asia businesses.

A typical day in this Role:

• Play a key role in the development team to manage and deliver digital solutions projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.

• Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and ongoing support for backend development in e-Commerce systems.

• Work closely with UX design, QA teams, and business users to ensure high-performing, scalable, and reliable digital solutions.

• Apply expertise in microservices architecture and cloud technologies, including Kubernetes (K8s) and Quarkus, to build scalable and resilient applications.

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues efficiently.

• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, third-party services, and message queuing systems like Apache Kafka to enhance system interoperability.

• Optimize applications for enhanced performance and scalability using tools such as Apache Maven/Gradle for build automation and Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

Success will depend on:

• Academic background in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in IT programming or e-Commerce system development, preferably in the retail industry. Strong technical candidates without retail experience will also be considered.

• Proficient in Java, Python, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Aspect-Oriented Programming.

• Knowledge and experience in SAP Hybris / SAP CX Commerce is a significant advantage.

• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, as well as working with message queuing systems like Apache Kafka.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Maven/Gradle for project dependency management and automation.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployment.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural e-Commerce environment with competing deadlines

• Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities, with experience working alongside front-end developers, system architects, and other stakeholders.

• Excellent in both oral and written English and Cantonese.
