Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Membership team, the Assistant Manager, Membership, will be responsible for leading initiatives in member acquisition, retention, and engagement. This role will involve collaborating with internal and external teams to implement effective marketing campaigns, coordinating membership events, and enhancing digital tools and processes to ensure an exceptional member experience. With a focus on strategic growth and member satisfaction, the Assistant Manager will be pivotal in driving the overall success of the museum’s membership programme.

You will be responsible for:

  • developing and implementing campaigns and partnerships for member acquisition;
  • organising and conducting member engagement events, as well as managing communications and campaigns for renewals and lapsed memberships;
  • creating engaging and appealing content across various membership touchpoints and channels, including email newsletters, website, social media, and mobile applications to ensure consistent messaging;
  • supervising frontline services and operations with the assistance of Frontline Membership Supervisors to maintain service quality and ensure smooth operations;
  • participating in the development of new systems and digital platforms to enhance membership processes and enrich member experiences;
  • collaborating with internal and external teams to design and implement initiatives that align with KPIs and goals for the membership programme;
  • overseeing the CRM system to ensure data accuracy and derive insights for targeted initiatives;
  • monitoring the budget and expenditures related to membership operations and marketing initiatives;
  • generating reports on membership metrics, campaign performance, and operational efficiencies; and
  • undertaking additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to effectively support the membership programme.

You should:                          

  • possess a recognized university degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in membership management, marketing and communications, or related fields, with a proven track record in member acquisition and retention;
  • possess experience in managing CRM systems and utilizing data for strategic decision-making;
  • have demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • exhibit strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving;
  • be a team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering results;
  • show adaptability and willingness to learn and utilize new technologies and tools relevant to membership management; and
  • have strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
