Reporting to Head of Finance, the incumbent will assume full responsibility in finance, accounting and compliance functions for assigned portfolio of businesses units. She/he will also assist Head of Finance to drive business improvement projects, review various contracts, formulate company policies and procedures, and ensure good internal control and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with Senior Management and Business Heads in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts by establishing schedules, collecting, consolidating and analyzing financial figures, preparing projections and recommending plans.
  • Prepare and evaluate EVA for the shop renewal, new shop opening and make recommendations. Represent Finance Department to participate in leasing and facilities meetings with Senior Management and communicate with stakeholders on the financial impact.
  • Review the financial information prepared by Finance team in accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly operating statement, forecast, annual budget and any other reporting as requested by our joint venture partners and trade partners.
  • Provide analytical support and assistance to Senior Management and Business Heads from financial perspective, identify areas of improvement for cost effectiveness, set and monitor the productivity and cost management related KPI, design the proper workflow and accounting process for business development.
  • Lead the risk management, internal control and compliance function to ensure the adherence of all accounting standards/practices, statutory requirements, company guidelines, policy and procedures and corporate policies by proposing action to regulatory changes, reviewing and developing internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and proper authorization of business activities, coordinating Group Internal Audit exercises and external audits, partnering with Legal Team and Business Units on compliance issues, reviewing business contract on financial & business/operational terms.
  • Liaise with insurance agents to ensure the company properties are well covered and complied with Group requirements.
  • Navigate the process improvement of Finance Department. Work with IT Department and various Business Units to improve operational efficiency, including but not limited to developing and enhancing computerized systems, reviewing and establishing operation procedures for recording business transactions, reviewing and enhancing the process on the preparation of monthly operating statements so as to speed up the completion time.
  • Guide and mentor the Finance Team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc assignments as assigned by the Head of Finance from time to time.

Requirements

  • University graduate with professional accounting qualification
  • At least 8-10 years relevant experience in which 5 years should be at managerial level under retail environment & PRC environment; exposure in Big-4 audit firm is highly preferred
  • Solid experience in consolidation accounting, financial control management and planning
  • Strong technical knowledge in Hong Kong accounting standards and taxation regulations
  • A hands-on and all-round manager in accounting & finance with strong business sense, internal control and compliance sense
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with people at all levels including senior management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, critical thinking mindset and passion to drive efficiency
  • Proficient in MS office application (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Words) and computerized accounting system (e.g. SAP). Concrete experience in SAP & financial reporting/analysis system is definitely an advantage
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English
  • Team player, proactive, meticulous, multi-tasking, able to meet tight deadline and work independently, efficiently under a demanding and fast pace environment
