Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of Legal for Affluent Clients in the Greater China and North Asia (GCNA) region. This role is crucial in providing strategic legal advice and support to the Affluent Clients segment, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing legal risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the legal team supporting the Affluent Clients segment in the GCNA region.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior management and business units on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Manage legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting the financial services industry and affluent clients.
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support to business units on legal and compliance matters.
  • Foster a culture of ethical behavior and compliance within the organization.

Skills And Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years PQE and with legal experience within the financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations and affluent client market.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading a legal team.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification from a recognized institution
