Job Highlights

Responsibilities:
 

  • Designing and supervising the construction of structural framework, foundation, piling and site formation works for Government building projects;
  • Advising on maintenance to the structures of existing Government buildings;
  • Checking structural submissions;
  • Carrying out project management duties.

Requirement:
 

  • Corporate Members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Structural or Civil Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent; (Note: For holders of qualifications in the Civil Discipline, experience in structural engineering design and practice is required.) [See Note (A)];
  • Have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. [See Notes (B) & (C)].

Notes

(A) Candidates should clearly specify the discipline of their corporate membership and give a detailed account of their qualifications and experience in their applications, enclosing copies of supporting documents.

(B) Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

(C) Candidates should obtain all the above-mentioned entry requirements on or before the closing date for application.

Candidate(s) will be seconded to work and carry out duties under the direct supervision of the Architectural Services Department.
