Project Title: Reducing Loneliness in Old Age through Enhancing Wisdom: The Neural Correlates/ Acute isolation in older adults: implications on the affective regulatory system
[Appointment Period: 12 months]
The appointee will be responsible for supporting joint research projects under The Education University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University Research Collaboration Scheme. He/ She will be engaged in all stages of the research process. The appointee is responsible for developing research materials, conducting literature review, assisting in the coordination and administrative work of the project, supporting behavioral and brain imaging (MRI, fNIRS) data collection and data analysis, writing papers/ reports, and performing any other duties assigned by the Project Leader or his/her delegate(s). The initial appointment will be for a period of 12 months.
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Cognitive neuroscience, or related disciplines, preferably with some research experience. For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have at least Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in five subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent. They should also have a good command of written Chinese and English, a good command of Cantonese, as well as be conversant in English; have good interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Knowledge of and experience in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, especially in research methods, statistics and brain imaging will be a definite advantage.
