Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AI Integration Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying the backend infrastructure and automated workflows that power various AI-driven agents (including voice agents and process automation agents). You will work at the intersection of API integration, workflow automation platforms, cloud services, and cutting-edge AI technologies to bring intelligent automation solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend workflows using leading automation/integration platforms (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar).
• Integrate diverse third-party APIs, including communication platforms (telephony/SMS), AI/ML services (LLMs, STT, TTS), CRM systems, data storage solutions, and other essential business tools.
• Develop custom logic and data transformations using scripting languages (primarily JavaScript and/or Python) within the automation platform as needed.
• Configure and interact with various AI service APIs, implementing logic for tasks such as natural language understanding, response generation, and speech synthesis/recognition.
• Set up and manage connections to data sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets via API, CRM APIs) for fetching and updating information within automated workflows.
• Configure necessary cloud service components related to the integrations (e.g., cloud storage buckets, basic serverless functions).
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, AI specialists, and other engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across distributed systems and integrated platforms.
• Optimize workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Maintain clear documentation for workflows and integrations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development, integration engineering, automation development, or a similar role.
• Proven experience building and managing complex workflows using one or more major workflow automation/integration platforms (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make).
• Strong proficiency in integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML data formats. Solid understanding of API authentication methods (API Keys, OAuth, etc.).
• Competency in scripting with Javascript and/or Python for data manipulation and custom logic within integration contexts.
• Demonstrable experience integrating with cloud-based AI/ML services (e.g., OpenAI, Google AI, AWS AI Services) for tasks like text generation, speech-to-text, or text-to-speech.
• Familiarity with interacting with data sources via API (e.g., databases, SaaS platforms, spreadsheet APIs).
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its relevant integration services (e.g., S3/Blob Storage, Lambda/Functions).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a knack for debugging distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience building conversational AI voice agents.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering principles for large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with communication platform APIs (e.g., Twilio, Vonage).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
• Understanding of database concepts (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for automation workflows.
