Salary: $28,725 per month

Entry Requirements:

(1) A bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(2) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;
(3) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
(4) Good computer operation knowledge including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese and English word processing skills; and
(5) Preference may be given to candidates who have working experience in administration or government/public organisations.

Note: (1) “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3)‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

Duties:

(1) To perform general administration and management work such as resource management systems and records management, project planning, collection and analysis of statistical information, compilation of reports, etc.;
(2) To handle public enquiry;
(3) To assist the office including drafting and preparation of minutes and briefs, co-ordinating logistics for the smooth running of meetings and events, liaising with the government departments and other parties; and
(4) To undertake any other duties assigned (e.g. election-related duties).

Terms of Appointment:

(1) Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Contract period may vary in view of operational need and may be less than 10 months; and
(2) Candidates appointed may be required to work overtime and work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

Fringe Benefits

(1) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance; and
(2) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

(2) Completed application forms together with a copy for each of relevant academic qualifications (including certificates) should reach the contact address below by post or in person on or before the closing date. For submission by post, the deadline is based on the stamp chop date. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid. Any underpaid mail items will be handled by the Hongkong Post and applications will not be considered. For submission in person, the application should reach the contact address below by 5 p.m. of the closing date. Please specify on the envelope 'Application for the Post of Executive Assistant'. Late applications, or applications which are incomplete, or not made in prescribed form, or submitted by fax/ email, or without the relevant supporting documents will not be considered.
(3) Candidates who are selected for interviews should bring their Hong Kong Identity Card, original copies of relevant supporting documents and a recent passport-size photograph to attend the interview.
(4) Applicants who are not invited for interview within 6 to 8 weeks from the closing date may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
(5) Candidates who are selected for interviews may receive invitations by email. Applicants should provide clearly their email addresses on their application forms. Applicants are responsible for checking their emails to ensure that invitation or notification will be duly received.

General Notes:

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. (h) The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Applicants who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If applicants submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If applicants fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
