Job Description

West Island School (WIS) is seeking to appoint an ICT Technician.  This is a permanent full-time position with medical and MPF benefits active for 10.5 months with MPF benefits, summer break will be unpaid leave.  

Role Summary

  • To manage and provide first-line technical support to students and staff laptops & ICT equipment at WIS
  • To oversee help desk operations and maintain inventory, ensuring efficient resolution of technical issues

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management and support of all laptops at West Island School including day- to- day support, damage claims and loaner issues
  • Responsible for recording, documenting, resolving and tracking all helpdesk jobs via the online ticketing system
  • To act as the first line of technical support for students and staff
  • Responsible for laptop image preparation and maintenance
  • Technical support, maintenance and inventory of all classroom ICT equipment such as projectors, visualizers, desktops, laptops & accessories
  • Perform other duties and assume accountabilities as apparent or as delegated including mutually agreed-upon objectives

Reporting To: ICT Manager

Requirements

Experience:

  • Entry level or 1-2 years in a similar role
  • Customer service experience is an advantage
  • Fresh graduates will also be considered

Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Strong English communication abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot day- to- day problems encountered by IT users on a Windows or Mac platform is essential
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS is essential
  • Working knowledge of the Internet and related applications is essential
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • A friendly manner in relation to staff and students is essential
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage a range of different tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and to learn new skills is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and good team player is essential
  • Proactive and use initiative
