Duties
The appointee will be responsible for conducting structural analysis and design tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the initiation and implementation of NAMI’s projects related to the adoption of innovative materials in building and construction;
- Assisting in the achievement of project milestones, including the preparation of project reports and occasional presentation of findings through slide decks;
- Providing support in structural analysis and design, including steel, concrete, or composite structures;
- Collaborating closely with project sponsors, suppliers, academic partners, and other stakeholders;
- Keeping abreast of market trends and maintaining a professional network to explore potential collaboration opportunities; and
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- MSc/MPhil or Ph.D. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related disciplines;
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in structural design for building and construction (candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Engineer);
- Passionate about developing innovative construction methods, such as Modular Integrated Construction (MiC);
- Experience in applying new building materials in Hong Kong projects is an advantage;
- Experience in experimental studies involving concrete or steel structural members is a plus;
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, capable of working independently, and possessing good interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
