Assistant Accounting Manager

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the appointee will be required to:

  • perform general and project accounting duties including handling full set of accounts, receipts, payments and reimbursements;
  • prepare consolidated financial statements and various management accounting reports;
  • control and monitor the research project cost utilization to ensure expenditures are kept within approved budget from time to time;
  • be responsible for project cost management and collect information from various divisions for analysis;
  • review inventory movements between purchase orders, work-in-progress and inventory and explain important variances;
  • co-ordinate inventory control audits, variance analysis and physical inventory count reconciliations;
  • be responsible for co-ordination of internal audit, annual statutory financial audit, and other statutory and regulatory compliance tasks; and
  • perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in Accounting, with a professional accounting qualification, such as HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent being an advantage;
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in cost management/ inventory control in government subvented organizations being an advantage;
  • Extensive experience in using computerized accounting systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • High sense of integrity and self-discipline;
  • Excellent analytical ability, organizational and interpersonal skills; and
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
